Sonic Being
(ongoing work)

What if sound itself has an agency, independency, and cognition?

While sound has been traditionally treated as a tool for human use, we propose a posthumanist view by imagining Sonic Being, an independent, conscious sound presence. Through a participatory workshop, we defined this abstract, unpredictable entity, conceptualized as a ghost-like presence moving through spaces. We developed a system that uses sound and the natural movement of fabric to indirectly reveal and make audible the passage of the virtual Sonic Being.
