Silent Suspense
How might Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) people experience suspense of horror films via haptic stimuli?
Horror films rely heavily on sound to build suspense, but Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) audiences miss this emotional layer. We developed Silent Suspense, a wearable multimodal haptic system that translates horror’s tension dynamics into tactile sensations, making emotional immersion possible without sound.
